SPX Gamma Advanced Concepts

Full SPX Trading Day Walkthrough

How does the Active Trader workflow organize an SPX session?

Follow four steps: read Market Intelligence, verify activity on the Flow Map, evaluate the supporting tools, and monitor changes. First Flows, Zero GEX, Trend, and End of Day Range provide the session’s framework.

What did First Flows show?

Early call selling and put buying supported a bearish assessment, reinforced by strong negative Delta Flow. Downside follow-through remained limited, showing why aligned evidence does not guarantee the expected move.

What did the Zero GEX opportunities demonstrate?

Two qualifying setups activated and later failed as gamma conditions reversed. Overhead call selling also challenged the support setup. Activation begins an evaluation; changing conditions can invalidate it.

How did No Active Trend affect the afternoon approach?

The 11:00 AM assessment shifted attention toward temporary extensions and potential reversals. Weakening GTS near seller-defined support or resistance helped evaluate failed breakout and breakdown opportunities.

How did End of Day Range guide the close?

Repeated updates identified overlapping seller levels near 7800, later adjusting to 7805 support and 7810 resistance. SPX finished inside those final boundaries, illustrating how successive assessments help traders follow evolving closing structure.
